Piano Chord Posters

How much fun would your students have if they could quickly and easily play their favorite songs?

I'm excited to share these posters with you because they've been so helpful for my students.

These posters help students easily learn major and minor chords so that they can play songs they love from lead sheets and fake books, or use chords to create their own songs.

You can use the posters when introducing the chords, and hang the posters on your studio wall so that your students can easily reference them.

The included Teacher's Guide explains this easy system for teaching students how to play piano chords.

Your students will learn patterns for 11 of the most commonly used major chords, and how to make them minor.

The visuals make it fun and easy for students to understand chord patterns. Each chord pattern has its own helpful characterization.

For example, the "Hamburger Chords" are D, E, and A. These chords all use this pattern: white key, black key, white key. So picture a light colored bun, then a dark colored hamburger patty, then a light colored top bun.

When a student needs to play a D chord, they can look at the posters, see that D is a Hamburger Chord, and then know which keys to play--bottom finger on the white key D, middle finger on the black key F#, and top finger on the white key A.

It's a fun and easy system that students catch onto quickly. And they love to be able to play chords with their favorite songs!

And, as a bonus, I've included a list of my favorite fake books for students. Your students will be thrilled to be able to play their favorite songs. With your recommendations, they'll be able to get a book that matches their interests so that they can have a blast at the piano.
